If you play “Let Freedom Bang” for any HHH fan, there’s an 85% chance that they know the hook and can tell you whose song it is. Even more so, this applies to the song, “Air Jordan” which not only was the biggest single of his career, but also a remix phenomenon, spawning over 60 remixes using the original beat. So, for those of you in the 15%, who is the producer/rapper behind the two? Here are a few hints. Add 5 albums, various mixtapes, features on the albums of some prominent Christian emcees, a knack for producing hot tracks, a hilarious personality, and a love for his God, and you can only get one man. That’s right, ladies and gentleman, K-Drama.

Over the years, K-Drama has come a long way in HHH. Born Anthony Regis Jones in Cincinnati, OH, he entered the ministry in 1998 at the age of 14. He released his first 3 albums, Threat 2 Society, Non-Fiction: Beneath the Surface, and 14 2 Life: Illustrations of Self, independently. Behind the Glory, his fourth album, was released by Holy Hip Hop/EMI Gospel and was a major step for both him and his music. The album featured the hit “Let Freedom Bang”, which also filled a slot on the American Bible Society sponsored “Conkrete Angels” compilation CD, gaining him a considerable amount of popularity. His latest album, BoomBaptism, released in 2008 and has made a lot of noise in the music community. It debuted at 18th on the iTunes Christian & Gospel charts and at 60th on Amazon’s Rap & Hip-Hop charts.  BoomBaptism garnered his biggest hit, “Air Jordan” which is the most remixed song ever in Christian Rap music.

Outside of his own albums, he has featured on projects for R-Swift, DJ Official & Sho Baraka. He has also collaborated with Canton Jones & Manchild of Mars ill for his own projects. And, when he’s not rapping, K-Drama steps out of the booth to do other work in the studio. He has made a name for himself as a producer, cooking up hot beats for his own albums along with those of Flame, Lecrae, and Tedashii. One of his more prominent productions as of late is the beat for “Got Paper” off Lecrae’s latest album Rebel. His other musical accomplishments/works include appearances on mixtapes for T.H.I.S. Click Records, the creation of his Road to Glory Mixtape & For the Longest Time Mixtape, the Black Guy Meets White Man album with MC Till, and two E.P.’s: the CeaseFire Cincinnati EP and the Crunk Christmas Carols EP.

With his music, k-Drama is reaching out to the world around him. He is working to change his Cincinnati neighborhood by teaming up with local churches to reach out to inner city kids. Part of this includes a movement to decrease gun violence called CeaseFire Cincinnati. For this cause, k-Drama created the CeaseFire Cincinnati EP which calls for an end to the end of gun crimes, murder, and all gun violence. He also holds concerts at local churches and churches across the nation. Other performances include at Fla.vor Fest in Tampa, GMA week in Nashville, Rapfest in New York, and as an honoree at the Holy Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta in 2008.

K-Drama is the husband of Charde Jones.  Together they have 2 children, Naima and Savion.
