The ever evolving music man flies solo on upcoming studio release, The Power of One, his eighth recording for the Mobile, AL based label, Integrity Gospel. Houghton is set to debut the first single, "Just Wanna Say" Tuesday, January 13th on Yolanda Adams' nationally syndicated show that airs on Radio One. That same day, the single launches on his myspace page www.myspace.com/israelandnewbreedofficial @ 5pm CST.
The multi-media launch continues when Houghton makes a special appearance on TBN's Praise The Lord on Wednesday, January 14th at 7:00pm (PT)/ 9:00pm (CT)/ 10:00pm (ET). And to close out the month,"Just Want To Say" will be available on iTunes on Tuesday, January 27th.
"This is the first time I've entered into a project with no premeditation," Israel explains. "In the past, I'd go into a project saying we need this kind of song here and that kind there - worrying if it would sell or if the Church would accept it. This time it was fun to go into creating a record with no rules and just do what was in our hearts...a very cathartic experience."
Big things on the horizon for Israel Houghton in 2009 and it all starts with the January 22 kick off of The Hello Love Tour with Christian artist, Chris Tomlin.
